Concentus Women's Chorus starts their 10th anniversary season with small-ensemble choral compositions this weekend. Concentus was founded by Edna Huelsenbeck and Gwendolyn Hall Gassler, and performs music ranging from medieval chant to contemporary compositions commissioned for women's voices. Auditions are open to everyone. Current members of Concentus have varied backgrounds, from a voice student at the Eastman School of Music Community Division, to a former singer with Nik and the Nice Guys, to a registered nurse, a psychologist, a pastor, and a high-school chemistry teacher.
Concentus Women's Chorus performs Sunday, January 22 at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church St., Pittsford. Free. 586-5677, Concentus.org
